Twenty-five years of international performance, production and self-examination. The Shift is not a framework imported from elsewhere. It came from living inside survival mode at the highest levels — and learning, slowly, to return.

I grew up in Gorton, Manchester. That is where the wiring happened — where I first learned to stay alert, to read rooms, to perform competence before I had any reason to. The survival mode that would follow me into my adult life was not a flaw. It was intelligence. It knew exactly what it was doing.
What it did not know was when to stop.
Over the next twenty-five years, I worked across the BBC, US network television and studio film. I built a career that, from the outside, looked like success. And it was. It also ran, for long stretches, on survival.
I became a mother. I built a multi-million-pound property portfolio and co-founded Actors Evolution to support emerging talent. And underneath all of it, the work — the real work — was learning to recognise when the system had collapsed back into survival, and to return before I acted from that state.
